Postdoctoral Fellow in Life Science

An opportunity exists immediately for a motivated postdoctoral researcher to join the Targeted Therapeutics Laboratory investigating aberrant epigenetic pathways in haematological malignancies. The project involves close interaction with industry collaborators in order to investigate the precise molecular mechanisms and genetic determinants of therapy response for compounds in advanced clinical development. The laboratory incorporates a team of 6 researchers focused on identifying and testing novel targeted therapies for aggressive blood cancers.

Suitable applicants will possess a PhD (or have recently submitted their thesis) in molecular biology, genetics or a related discipline and have extensive knowledge of NextGen sequencing technologies. A strong background in cancer research is preferred but not essential. The person will be capable of working in an independent manner within a small team, and possess high quality written and oral communication skills. The position is initially for a fixed term of 12 months. Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience (Level A classification from RA5-RA10; Allied Health Professionals (Victorian Public Health Sector) Single Interest Enterprise Agreement 2016-2020).
